Video: answers the majority of the questions we’ve been getting
September 30th, 2006 Author: Matt P.We decided to make a quick and dirty (with cheesy transitions) video answering the questions we’ve been getting and promoting the various projects we’ve been working on.

EYDL sits down with Ian Smith, the creator of http://www.joesgoals.com/, and gets the scoop on the site that helps you track your goals and vices in a community setting.
MP: What is Joe’s Goals?
Ian: Joe’s Goals is a simple online goal tracking application. Basically it lets you define a list of goals on the left hand column while the days of the week are shown across the top. Click the corresponding box to mark what you’ve completed each day. You can even record multiple check marks where needed. For example, I could have a goal called Practice Guitar and with just two clicks I can record that I practiced Monday and Thursday.
I’ve started a multi-tiered project called “Buzzopedia.” It is similiar to Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org) because it is hosted as a wiki-styled website, but it is turning out to be more of a collaborative scrapbook. The original idea was that all of my friends and family would be able to contribute to this site, although I would be a primary source of content. I am also working on publishin PDF ezines which I am tentatively naming “Buzzcasts” and will contain expanded versions of the articles which are hosted on buzzopedia.wikispaces.com. I am a little lost on which direction I should take and hope that I can get some input from this community.
We are looking for folks that would like to be frequent contributors to this site. If you aren’t routinely drunk by 10AM, know a little about digital media and how to use it, and like to string words together to form semi-cohesive thoughts, then we’d like you to register and start writing. More info!
Holy Cannoli!
So just when Carlin and I think this whole thing is dying down (and looking at the stats we were flatlining), the fine folks at Inside Edition (hi Erin!) decided to run our piece. That same day, YouTube.com makes us the their number one featured video. I found out because my email got about 300 messages in 5 minutes…I quickly deduced something was up. Read the rest of this entry »

So you’ve got a great idea / topic for a blog but you’d like to see if you could make a little money off of it, well then you are going to need to get WordPress hosted because they don’t allow advertising on the free WordPress.com site.
I got lucky and found what I think to be is the ISP offering the greatest services and control I’ve ever seen…Their implementation is actually far superior to anything I imagined would be out there. Also, their support has been extremely friendly and fast! Once I dialed in the number and hit 3 for tech support, I’ve gotten someone on the 2nd or 3rd ring so far…and the longest it took for a change to be implemented was like 3 hours.
ANHosting is their name and making website hosting is their game (and boy am I lame). Read the rest of this entry »
