So just when Carlin and I think this whole thing is dying down (and looking at the stats we were flatlining), the fine folks at Inside Edition (hi Erin!) decided to run our piece.  That same day, YouTube.com makes us the their number one featured video.  I found out because my email got about 300 messages in 5 minutes…I quickly deduced something was up. 

Then, I hear that we have been on CNN, Extra, on the homepage of Wired, in The Daily Mirror over in England, in other unnamed print publications, and we have other news shows and web sites asking to interview us.  This is just insane! 

Since we are trying to collect all this media attention for Ella when she’s old enough to think it’s cool (and we are lame), could you please let us know where you have seen it (we already know about Inside Edition, CBS Early Show, and the Seattle PI)?  I don’t know what day we were on CNN or Extra so if you happen to know or for some reason have it recorded, could you let me know?  Same goes for any other print publication (Daily Mirror anyone?) or TV spot!

Friends have mentioned a great drinking game would be to drink every time one of us says “Cool”.  I don’t recommend, though, as you are likely to get alcohol poisoning.

Then, we realized that we’d have to get up at 3 am…that’s the Early part of the Early show. So despite my fear of looking like an ass on live television and whether Ella would melt down, the whole piece went great! The crew that came out to turn our living room into a TV studio (for the second time in two weeks) were awesome; funny guys who kept joking around with us to keep us loose and kept Ella happy.

Despite the insane wake up time, the whole process (from dealing with producers, cameramen, and being on live TV) went great and we’ll have something really cool to show Ella.

Update: CBS affiliates sometimes only use an hour of the two hour show so we may get cut in your local city. We’ve already had East Coast friends email us though to say that they saw the piece and that we don’t look like serial killers…HURRAY!

We were the second story on the PI’s website on Friday and our story was teased above the masthead on the front page of the newspaper.  Because of a small gaff, our story didn’t actually run in Friday’s paper but it is on the front of the Local section today (Saturday).  It was also the 2nd most emailed story yesterday.  Damn, this thing has legs!
