All you stay-at-home parents can probably relate – when Matt comes home at the end of the day, I have a sudden urge to talk his ear off and tell him everything that Ella (& I) did that day. Now, part of that is a desire to talk to an adult, but it’s really because I want him to stay connected to her everyday goings-on.

So, when a friend mentioned this idea to me recently, it struck a cord with me – and I thought some of you might want to give it a try, too. The gist is simple: take video of your child(ren) throughout one day to share with your working spouse (or far-away relatives) so they can get a sense of what a typical day is like. My plan is to take many short clips of video, adding up to less than an hour of footage, showing everything from the mundane ride in the car to giggling on the swing at the park. If I’m lucky, I might even catch her first real crawl! If I can do that just once a month, it’ll be a great way to share with her Dad and her Grandma in Hawaii.
This would be interesting to do with still photographs, too. Maybe I’ll try that the second month…
Anyone else tried something like this? I’d love to hear more ideas on how to make it turn out great.
